Katherine F. Lindquist Memorial Scholarship

Katherine F. Lindquist was a dedicated past section representative for the Smoky Mountain Section of SWE. As an individual, she worked tirelessly to accomplish the objectives of the society and showed a great personal commitment to the youth of East Tennessee. Through many years of service as active SWE member, a Senior Girl Scout Troop Leader and trainer, and community volunteer, she introduced many girls to the possibility of pursuing a career in the field of engineering or science. She helped them to understand the opportunities for women in these fields, and the educational requirements they would have to meet in order to succeed. Her personal and professional accomplishments along with her dedicated service to the East Tennessee community demonstrated to each girl what they could achieve if they put their minds to it. Her passion for the environment, nature, animals, and cultural diversity were evident in the many community and civic efforts in which she participated.
